A three-day residential workshop in stone carving

A three-day residential workshop suitable for beginners and people keen to extend their existing skills. Taught by professional carver Lucy Churchill. During the course you will:

  • Learn safe working procedures
  • Develop confident carving and design skills
  • Express your ideas in three-dimensions, producing a piece of work to take home
  • Be given guidance on where to find materials and tools
  • Be advised on how you can further develop your skills

Group sizes are limited to eight, so the course can be adapted according to your needs. There is ample opportunity for personal guidance.

The c ourses are run at Bawdsey Manor on the Suffolk coast. Full board is provided at the manor house for three nights, including the evening prior to the course. Two master bedrooms have recently been refurbished with en-suite facilities. These are available for a surcharge of £25 per night - early booking is advised for these rooms.

Situated on the Deben Estruary, Bawdsey Manor provides a wonderful setting for the workshops. Students are free to explore the house and its grounds, and the the nearby coastline.
