A three-day residential workshop in stone carving
A three-day residential workshop suitable for beginners and people keen to extend their existing skills. Taught by professional carver Lucy Churchill. During the course you will:
- Learn safe working procedures
- Develop confident carving and design skills
- Express your ideas in three-dimensions, producing a piece of work to take home
- Be given guidance on where to find materials and tools
- Be advised on how you can further develop their skills
Group sizes are limited to eight, so the course can be adapted according to the needs of each student, and plenty of personal tutoring can be given.
Courses will run at Bawdsey Manor on the Suffolk coast. Full board will be provided at the manor house for 3 nights, including the evening prior to the course. Two master bedrooms have recently been refurbished with en-suite facilities. These are available for a surcharge of £25 per night - early booking is advised for these rooms.
Bawdsey Manor provides a wonderful setting for the Stone Carving Workshops. Students are free to explore the house and its grounds, and the beach is a five minute stroll away.
