Sculpture in Stone specialises in running stone carving workshops for beginners. Students travel from all parts of the UK to experience a weekend carving in a unique environment by the sea. Most  are absolute beginners to stone carving, but some are professional artists who want to acquire new skills within a short space of time. As a result of attending  the workshops we receive regular feedback from students which sometimes results in exhibitions or a change in lifestyle and work ethos. The workshops attract all ages from eighteen to eighty plus, and will continue to encourage the development of a creative and  individual response to carving in stone at Bawdsey in years to come.
