Stone Carving Workshops 2006
Thank you for an excellent workshop. We had a lovely
time and both have caught the bug. I have already been down to Fairhavens and
persuaded the lads to find me a lump of Portland and a chunk of something they
assure me is softer. Now we have to sort out some tools. Mark is determined to
do something huge!
Best regards
Lucy - Suffolk
Hi Rosemary & Bob
Many thanks for a really enjoyable weekend - it
was great being outdoors all the time, and very satisfying to finally get my
hands on some stone, which I've been meaning to do for a 2 or 3 years now.
I really appreciated your input, for the design
and techniques and pacing the work - there's just enough to fill the gaps which
needed filling and not so much that I ever felt like I had been lectured at.
I will definitely have to look at the funds for
a visit to Carrara
Very
best wishes
Andrew - Norfolk
Again, many thanks to you both
for such a fantastic weekend.
Stone Carving Workshops 2005
Dear Rosemary and Bob,
I would like to thank you both for the
very enjoyable stone carving course in July.
I was amazed by how much I was able to do
in such a relatively short time and that was down to your excellent skills
as teachers - providing enough direction and instruction to enable me to
make steady progress but without being too intrusive.
Everyone has been impressed by my work,
(including me) although my son did look at my flower piece, then gave me a
searching stare before asking "Did you really do this?" Happily, I
was able to tell him that I did!
Having had such a great introduction to
stone carving I am definitely going to carry on with it. Thank you, once
again, for making the weekend such a pleasant and rewarding experience.
With best wishes,
Ursula
Chris has been like a man
possessed since our trip to Suffolk and has since produced four more pieces;
one in Bath stone and three in Cotswold stone. We visited Somerset this
weekend just passed and returned with a hefty piece of Ham stone which will
be chipped away sometime this week without a doubt. He's spending all his
time with a chisel in his hand! I hope your new students are enjoying the
course as much as we did.
